Linkedin

Communication is drastically growing over the internet, we use a variety of websites to connect with people all around the world.  Some of the most popular forms of social media include instagram, facebook and twitter.  Now, other websites are becoming more and more popular each year.  For example, Linkedin is one of the top websites used for connecting with people in a desired field.
Linkedin was created in 2002 and was launched in 2003.  It is one of the biggest professional marketing websites with over 20 million members from more than 200 countries.  Information technology (IT) has become a huge part of every business plan.  Today, IT plays a role in many multinational corporations by maintaining mainframe systems and databases and small businesses that own a single computer. For instance, email is one of the biggest communication tools used in businesses all around the world.  Businesses also use a number of other communication tools such as social media and websites like Linkedin, as well as live chat systems, online meeting tools and video-conferencing systems.  Smart phones are one of the most high-tech ways for employees to communicate.
Some few things about Linkedin is that not everyone on Linkedin wants to network.  Some people join Linkedin to meet new people and form new connections, but others just want to stay within their circle and have another way to communicate with their co-workers.  People will judge you based on your profile, so it’s a good idea to post things that are semi-professional, you wouldn’t want to ruin friendships or relationships with future employers because your profile isn’t straightforward.  The profile photo is one of the most important parts about a Linkedin profile because that’s the first thing people see, make sure it’s a professional-looking headshot where you look your best.
One bad thing about always communicating over the internet and Linkedin, is that most people forget to have face to face meetings and make engaging in conversation personal by a phone call and such.  You’d be surprised how much a face-to-face meeting can mean to a person.  It’s not required by Linkedin to connect with members on a face-to-face basis, but people who do, tend to be more successful than members who only operate over the computer.
When Linkedin is used correctly, it can be very useful in making a person successful.  A few things might scare a person from using Linkedin, like every other social media tool, like fake profiles.  Once you become more familiar with the way Linkedin works, you’ll be able to build your network of professional relationships and take advantage of everything Linkedin has to offer.
